The sanctuary and church are now decorated with reminders of the season including the beautiful Advent Wreath that we light each Sunday. Different families and groups from the church step forward during worship to light the candle for that Sunday and we share a time of prayer as we anticipate the birth of our Savior.
Last Sunday, we lit the Candle of Hope, focusing us on the gifts of Christ's birth. Jesus is the Light of the world! In him, we have an eternity of joy and peace to which we can look forward. Members of the Crusaders in Christ Sunday School and Bible Study class provided the readings.
This Sunday, we light the Candle of Love, turning our attention to the overwhelming grace of our loving God, demonstrated for us so clearly in the birth, life, death, and resurrection of our Savior, Jesus. God's love is everlasting; we can count on him to fill our hearts, lift our spirits, bring us comfort whenever needed, and light the way for us every day. The Elders of the church will read and light the Candle of Love during worship this morning.
If you are reading this in time, please join us! Sunday School for all is at 9:30 AM and worship follows at 10:45. We would be happy to welcome you - and if not this Sunday, perhaps next week. Our doors - and hearts - are always open.
