"Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?" - Matthew 6:26 (NIV)
"Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father's care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows." - Matthew 10:29–31 (NIV)
These words bring comfort. How wonderful to know that God - the Almighty Creator of the universe - watches over me - and you! We know this to be true, as noted in the scriptures above, but don't we sometimes doubt it? Don't we sometimes feel unworthy of such holy attention? Well...it's not really about us; it's about God. His compassion knows no bounds and his capacity to love us is unmatched.
Pastor Harold addressed this in a recent sermon, reminding us that we must remember that God is mindful of us, and that we are his children. When we remember this, peace descends, and cares lighten; with God's loving eye upon us, we can seek to do his will and trust that he is with us. Our imperfections cannot stay his purpose and his love surrounds us.
