There have been blessings aplenty, and also times of challenge in health and family needs among the community; some have gone before us in death and some have faced difficult times with illness or other concerns. As we have reached out in love to one another, we have discovered anew the depth and breadth of our faith, the strength of our caring. This is the rock on which we stand, the Lord's promises fresh in our minds, his love and compassion stirring in our hearts.
Even in a world where nothing is certain, where fear and anger combine to bring pain and loss, we lean on the God who loves us and on the family and friends who bless our lives with joy. Our faith is strong, and we look ahead with hope. Giving what we can to nourish those in need and praying for the grace we know to touch others, we offer our hearts and put our faith in God.
Now, we settle into the new season and all it has to offer. Scripture teaches us to give thanks in everything (1 Thessalonians 5:8) and to trust in the Lord always (Proverbs 3:5). As we do, we are reminded of his goodness and the grace that is ever-present. We look forward to the Thanksgiving holiday and the warmth of lovingkindness. Our prayer is that you will enjoy this time of reflection. May God's bounty be evident to you and yours!
